How It Works
West Valley Packing and Unpacking is a free referral service. Here’s exactly what happens when you request a packing quote — and what we do and don’t do.
Free referral service · Services are provided by independent third-party providers
Four steps, no obligation
You request a quote
Use the short form to tell us where you’re moving from, what you need packed or unpacked, and roughly when.
We share your request
We pass your details to independent packing and unpacking providers who serve your part of the West Valley.
A provider contacts you
They’ll ask questions and arrange an in-person or video walkthrough, then give you an estimate.
You decide
Compare, ask questions and book directly with the provider — or don’t. Requesting a quote is free.
What we do — and what we don’t
| We do | We don’t |
|---|---|
| Take your request and share it with independent local providers | Pack, unpack, move or store anything ourselves |
| Explain what packing services usually involve and what to ask | Set providers’ prices, terms or schedules |
| Keep the request free and obligation-free for you | Guarantee any provider’s work, price, availability, licensing or insurance |
| Publish general planning information about moving in the Phoenix area | Employ packers or send crews to your home |

What a good estimate looks like
Once a provider contacts you, the estimate is the most important thing to get right. Density — how full the home is — drives packing time far more than square footage, which is why many providers prefer to see the home before quoting.
- In writing, with the scope listed room by room, including the garage and any Arizona room or storage.
- Crew size and expected hours, with the hourly rate and how materials are charged.
- What happens if the job turns out bigger — ideally, you hear about extra time before it’s worked, not on the invoice.
- Deposit, rescheduling and cancellation terms.
- How damage is handled, and proof of insurance if you ask for it.
What packing day usually looks like
Every provider works differently, but a well-run packing day tends to follow the same pattern. Use this as a checklist when you talk to providers.
- Floors, door frames and stair edges protected before boxes come in.
- One room finished before the next is started, so the house stays usable.
- Fragile items packed at a dedicated station with dish packs and proper cartons.
- Every carton labeled by room and contents as it’s sealed, ideally with a written inventory.
- Packing debris removed at the end of the day.
Ask whether the same crew stays for the whole job — consistent labeling makes unpacking much faster.

How it works — questions
Is it really free?
Yes. Requesting a quote costs nothing and there’s no obligation to book. You pay only the provider you choose, on terms you agree with them.
Who does the work?
Independent, third-party packing and unpacking providers. We are a referral service and don’t perform the work.
Are providers licensed and insured?
Providers are responsible for their own licensing and insurance. Ask any provider for proof of insurance before you book.
Can I request only unpacking?
Yes. Choose “Unpacking only” on the form.
Can family handle it from out of state?
Yes — mention it in the form. Many providers can work from a video walkthrough and send photos.
What if I change my mind?
That’s fine. There’s no obligation. Any booking, rescheduling or cancellation is between you and the provider.
